POLE POSITION = Cheesman69Boi - 1:20.002

After a washout in Germany’s qualification the majority of Kent 360 racers were praying for some sun. Their prayers were answered with a clear qualifying and only 5% chance of rain on race day, superb conditions for a quick flying lap, but could last season’s pole be broken?

Simply, yes, the top 3 beating last season’s pole time with Cheeseman69 gaining his 3rd pole position with more than 2 seconds knocked off the previous best with a 1.20.002– much to the fans delight after witnessing a disappointing qualy in Hockenheim due to treacherous driving conditions. One excited fan was even heard shouting “1.20 – suck my hairy genitalia!” Bannbino qualified in 2nd, Hypno85 3rd and R0ckeye 4th completing the front 2 rows of the grid.

Only 10 made it to the start line, with unconfirmed reports that Squeak83, after a heavy session at his local pub, rushed to the aid of bsheepie’s broken down tour bus – However, neither of them made it to the grid in time.

Those on the left of the starting grid, being on the “dirty side of the track”, were always going to find it difficult to get traction when the lights went off (if they ever appeared in the first place….). 5 lights on…… OFF, go go go! Were we going to see a clean run down into the 1st corner?... Of course we F****ing weren’t. Bannbino, with more traction, came flying down the inside of Cheeseman69 who decided to take a wide line to avoid carnage – fail. On the exit of turn 1 a slight nudge from Satak0, who was taking the inside line down to turn 1, was carrying too much speed and sent Cheeseman69 spinning to the middle of the track, giving R0ckeye nowhere to go but straight into the side of him, losing his front wing in the process. Going into turn 2 R0ckeye also suffered a shunt up the shitter sending him into the barrier, lucky not to destroy his car in receiving a puncture to his front right.

VillaJohn suffered the same fate as R0ckeye who, after gaining 4th place after turn 1, was swiftly punted off losing his front wing in the process and receiving a (potentially controversial) drive through penalty for returning to the track – Thank you, goodnight… much love.

A few laps later an intense battle was brewing between Hypno85 and Cheeseman69 (2nd and 3rd at this point), both engines sounding like they were ready to explode. All the action happening at turn 2, with both cars and drivers leaving plenty of skidmarks at this corner through the following 3 laps, with Cheeseman69 finally making his overtake stick without spinning out of control. Bannbino was still ahead with Cheeseman69 in 2nd and Hypno85 3rd both making ground on the driver at the top of the championship standings. Hypno85 was taking full advantage of Cheeseman69’s mistakes who was not able to gain on Bannbino until around lap 10. Following close for a couple of laps Cheeseman69 made a catastrophic error when Bannbino and Cheeseman69 were coming up to lap Tempy303 on turn 8. A serious lapse of concentration as he watched Tempy303 corner led to an early turn in and late break… POW!!!! Right in the kisser, sending Bannbino spinning 90 degrees with no other view but the barrier. This allowed Hypno85 to eventually catch Bannbino to take 2nd with only 2 laps remaining. Cheeseman69 was heard over the team radio apologising repentantly but the fans did not want to see him give up his pole, especially as Hypno85 was in second place. Perhaps a stewards enquiry would be worthwhile as Cheeseman69 has his hands held well up high to the mistake, although can Bernie’s declaration to this love tap as ‘just a racing incident’ be overruled?

Satak0 who started on primes drove a great race to get himself up to 4th but with a late pit stop to swap to options he couldn’t maintain his place dropping to 6th just in front of R0ckeye. He was able to hold him off for the final 5 laps, even with his tyres splitting red, to take a deserved 6th place finish.

The most unlikely of finishes for EagleJay who, due to technical difficulties with his car, was unable to make the previous 6 races. He took a rare top end finish in 4th, driving a pretty much perfect race with no spins / love taps. Will his temperamental car ever make it to Italy? We shall have to wait and see…

The top three finished Cheeseman69 – Bannbino – Hypno85, with Bannbino taking 2nd place as Hypno85 went wide on the penultimate lap. Bannbino still holds on to a 29 point lead, surely enough to hold on to that elusive trophy?… Places 2-6 are very close, only 7 points separating them.

On to a much anticipated Spa…

Nice write-up mate. I can only apologise for my mistake on the first corner. I should have taken a drive-through for that.
