RACES 13 & 14 PREVIEWS
CONTROVERSY ALL THE WAY AS THE GHOST OF BANNBINO RETURNS
It's getting tight at the top but it was controversy in Hungary. Bannbino had made a suprise return for one race only and was soon involved in the turn 1 clash. Squeak83 had deemed he had been "taken out" by bannbino and was fuming. Bannbino offered a different opinion and blamed Squeak for turning into him. Unfortunately or probably fortunatley no video footage is availble to see. One thing is for certain though is that the safety car had to come out three quarters into the race after Enkidu78 lost control and crashed. Sheepie UK was the first of 4 drivers to be DSQ'd for hitting the safety car - Sheepie UK fuming that it had stopped on the track and had no where to go. Villa John, Squeak83 and the current race leader at the time Bannbino also were deemed to have broken the rules and hit the safety car. Only 6 drivers finished with Dan the Man taking the win. In Belgium, the rain played havoc at the start with multiple clashes. The race did end up becoming dry and saw teams come in for dry slicks. Squeak83 took the win from Dan the Man with Adman getting a season best finish for 3rd. Three drivers failed to finish, Hypno, Snufkinn and R0ckeye. All that leaves Squeak ontop with 176 points, with team mate R0ckeye 2nd in 171. DantheMan is now 3rd with 159. Team wise it's no surprise that Easy Target are top with 347, Drive By Assasins now 2nd with 262 and Scuderia Sheepwash in 3rd with 259. So as the teams move onto Monza and the not so favourtie Singapore lets see what they can expect.
RACE 12 - ITALY
Season 2 Winner = Cheesman69Boi
Season 1 Winner = Bannbino
Monza provides the definitive test of a Formula 1 engine; it is also one of the most atmospheric venues in the world of motor racing. Modifications introduced in the name of safety mean there are some very tight chicanes, but thankfully Monza still boasts several breathtakingly fast sections and remains the fastest circuit on the calendar, with an average speed of around 250 km/h (155 mph). Monza looks deceptively simple for the drivers but the challenge of consistently finding the limit in low-downforce setup demands skill and finesse and Monza's chicanes and four key corners all demand careful control over the harsh kerbs.
Here's the layout:
Lets see a lap with Alonso in the Red machine around the Monza track.......
RACE 13 - SINGAPORE
Season 2 Winner = Bannbino
Season 1 Winner = Bannbino
The Singapore Grand Prix, the Monaco of the East, is one of the slowest of the season as an abundance of first and second-gear bends weave their way through the Marina Bay area of the city. The result is an average lap speed of just 175 km/h (108mph) although top speeds approach 297 km/h (185 mph) down Raffles Boulevard. However its claim to fame is as Formula One's first night race, illuminated by its state-of-the-art, temporary floodlight system that is installed in the week leading up to each race. The lighting system is an achievement in itself with 1600 lighting projectors spread 4 metres apart and suspended 10 metres above the track.
The 90-degree left at Turn 7, approached down the circuit's longest straight is seen as the best place for overtaking but like Monaco, overtaking is severely limited. Overall, the Marina Bay Circuit is a very demanding circuit, not least because of the large number of turns it packs into a lap.
Here is the layout.......
And now for a lap with Webber around the track....
As always.........CU Next Time.........
