RACE 1 & 2 RESULTS

DRAMATIC START TO SEASON 5 AS SAFETY CAR COMES OUT IN RACE 1

So with no Season 4 Champion DantheMan, and some fresh blood and new teams in for Season 5, the teams headed to Australia where an action packed first race ensued. With many new drivers making their debuts, the usual first corner love taps came to the fore. The race seemed to settle down with Bannbino and Pacific Fox battling at the front for the no.1 when Fox disappeared into the pits and not returning due to technical problems. Seemingly cruising to a win, drama occurred on lap 9 when R0ckeye lost the backend - a trademark of last season - and damaged his car to such an extent he had to retire. It was left in an unsafe place on the circuit and so Charlie Whiting had to send the Safety Car out. This caused a pit stop frenzy with many drivers coming in for fresh rubber with only 5 or so laps left. The SC eventually came in and the race restarted. This wasn't the end of the drama though as with 2 laps to go the rain came down and caused some drivers to lose grip and damaged front wings. Bannbino held firm though and Crash Bandits became the first team to get their 2 drivers on the podium since Katie Price GP last season with returning driver Adman11 getting 2nd and a debut podium for Sidney Snake. Tateeeee failed to make the start grid as didn't Thermal Richie D due to technical issues

Race 2 did see them on the grid and again many 1st lap clashes ensued as Sidney Snake who set pole steamed into the lead. Bannbino had some good scraps with Sheepie UK but their battle allowed Pacific Fox to catch them up and eventually both drivers spun out, with Bannbino having to pit for a new front wing. This allowed Pacific Fox to eventually hunt down Widge and doubleJ to get a podium for 3rd. Sidney drove a faultess race and duly took the win. Marchin Sausage who took some good results last season showed that he could be a good team mate for the newly formed Scuderia Tesco Kickio and Season 2 champion Bannbino by taking 2nd. Iregretnothing had to retire from the race - the team refusing to comment on reasons.

So an interesting start to season 5, and with some really mixed results we could be in for an interesting season. Expect a full grid as the teams move on to China and Bahrain next.
