EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING AS BANNBINO SENSATIONALLY QUITS !!

The sensational news post races 7 & 8 is that the current world champion and current driver championship leader Bannbino has quit F1. His reasons were basically "I've had enough of putting all the hours in practise only to be shunted off by cnuts" Shocked Bannbino will point towards the clashes with R0ckeye in Montreal where R0ckeye out broke himself on cold tyres to cut accross the first corner at the start and T-Bone Bannbino, followed by some dubious overtaking on lap 6 putting the champion into the wall of champions. Following on in the next race, Bannbino was tapped up the sh1tbox into the wall at turn 1, and as he limped round to get back to the pits clashed with Adman and subsequently with no front wing ended up in the wall and out of the race - video footage later showed he could have avoided it. Bernie commented "He nearly quit last season for much the same reasons. Sometimes that's racing but there was no disuading him this time. It's a shame as we could have had our first double world champion, but it opens it up for someone else. He may be back for 2012 but believe he wants to turn to touring cars for a while." Bern went on "I have spoken to R0ckeye and showed him the footage and he is aware for future races". So this blows open not only the drivers title but also the team one too. Other news was that EagleJay has quit Schumacher me sick to due other committments and so leaves two teams a driver down. The decision has been made that Villa John from SSCM and DantheMan will form up the DBA's - Drive by Assassins and that the points currently acrued by both drivers will go towards the new teams total. With Easy Target taking wins in both Montreal and Valencia it now sees them with a healthy lead with Scuderia Sheepwash their nearest rivals. With the new DBA's team plus in-form Team Bennetton on the rise, espeically with Satak0 getting a career best finish with 4th in Valencia, it's certainly hotting up as we reach the halfway stage.

So as F1 heads home, lets preview the next two races........

RACE 9 - SILVERSTONE

Season 2 Winner = Cheesman69Boi
Season 1 Winner = Bannbino

Silverstone is the original Formula One circuit, the place where the world championship began in 1950, and one of the fastest circuits on the calendar. However, whilst most of the other high-speed circuits rely on long straights, Silverstone is about the breathtaking sweeps of the first half of the lap which stretches from the right-hander at Copse through the thrilling Becketts complex and down the Hangar Straight, putting on emphasis on a balanced set-up rather than just sheer power. The downside to that is that over-taking is difficult, although not impossible.

However, for 2010, Silverstone have replaced the Priory complex with the new Arena section which adds a further 760 metres to the circuit and is expected to increase F1 lap times by four seconds. It is hoped that the changes will provide more overtaking opportunities.

Here's a map of the circuit.....

RACE 10 - GERMANY

Season 2 Winner = R0ckeye (Hockenheim)
Season 1 Winner = Hypno85 (Hockenheim)

Season 3 sees the German round visit the Nürburgring - a new track for the drivers.
Opened in 1984 after being built over a fraction of the original and infamous 14-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife, the circuit now feels very much part of the calendar after several years moonlighting as the European and Luxembourg Grand Prix before alternating with Hockenheim as the home of the German Grand Prix. A rhythmic, undulating track, each 5.148 kilometre lap of the modern layout will see the drivers negotiate a complete mix of corners from first-gear hairpins to sixth and seventh-gear sweeping bends. Overtaking is difficult but not impossible and the first corner offers the best opportunity.
Unpredictable weather conditions are an ever present feature of the mountainous Eifel region and rain often plays a role in how the Grand Prix weekend unfolds.

Here is the track layout.....

So who will take home honours at Silverstone? And who will become the first winner at the Ring?
