NEXT TRIPLE HEADER GOES WEST

The circus moves westwards as the drivers prepare for 3 very different circuits. Turkey, Spain and the legendary Monaco GP. Bannbino heads the table with 35 points from a possible 36, R0ckeye one of the pre-season favourites sits in 2nd on 26 points, Hypno a point behind in 3rd with 25. Rookie Adman11 has made an impressive start in 4th with 24 points, Squeak83 after taking his first ever win in China sitting 5th a further point behind with 23, Tempy303 in 6th with 21 points and last seasons champion Sheepie UK in 7th with 19 points and in much need of some podiums in the next 3 races. Bsheepie would find himself further up then 8th had he not had technical issues in China and failed to finish. 9th is Villa John who again will be looking for better results coming up. The bottom 3 sees the new drivers in Cheesman69Boi, Satak0 and EagleJay. Cheesman69Boi was in for a possible podium finish in China only to hit technical issues and retire. Wet weather has played a big part in the first 3 races and no doubt the drivers will not be wanting wet weather in Monaco, a challenge enough without adding to it. The stewards have warned Bannbino of cutting the pit exit white marker line having seen footage from the early races and have commented they will be watching him closely in the coming races. Asked why he thought the stewards seemed to be singling him out Bannbino commented "I've no idea - idiots, perhaps it's cos I is Northern"

RACE 4 = TURKEY. Season 1 Winner - Bannbino

Race 4 is at Istanbul Park only built in 2005 and another by Hermann Tilke. Tilke has stressed how the track follows the contours of the land, which dips and falls. Turn 8 is probably the best corner on the track. This wickedly fast and long turn has been nicknamed "Diabolica", a play on Curva Parabolica at Monza.
It is a quadruple apex corner with a load of 5g for 4 seconds. It is actually 4 corners joined together. Many drivers have found this to be one of the trickiest corners in Formula 1. Season 1 saw plenty of action here with a few offs but was one of the rare races last season where we had a full start and finish grid of 12.

Lets here Webber show us how it's done:

RACE 5 = SPAIN. Season 1 Winner - Sheepie UK

Race 5 heads to Catalunya. Built in 1991 at Barcelona, this track is the usual testing ground of the teams. A very fast track with some tight turns and a very tricky S chicane just before the start/finish line which take too much kerb will see you spin right out. Season 1 saw Sheepie UK register his first win, in a mostly uneventful race the only moment of controversy saw Spunky UK go from 4th to last on the last lap pointing the finger at Bannbino who denied any wrong doing and wasn't witnessed by the camera's.

Webber gives us the low down:

RACE 6 = MONACO. Season 1 Winner - R0ckeye

Run since 1929, it's the glamour race of the calendar and one all the drivers want to win.
The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race. It is the only Grand Prix that does not adhere to the FIA's mandated 305km minimum race distance. Season 1 saw carnage and action all the way as Sheepie UK spun on the penultimate lap to hand R0ckeye the prestigeous win. 3 drivers destroyed their cars last year, Spunky UK was the first victim clashing with Rick7363 in the tunnel forcing him to retire, Bsheepie was the next victim getting punctures and losing control, and Bannbino made a rare mistake in the tunnel to damage his Toro Rosso beyond repair. Pole position will be crucial and R0ckeye took the honours last season with a 1:20. With 4 rookies on the grid making their Monaco debuts it's going to be interesting!

Here's Webber on Monaco:

So it's been a great start to the new season and the drivers are all close points wise - can Bannbino continue his good form and who will get the glamour of Monaco?

Bring on the 21st June Very Happy
