CAN ANYONE STOP BANNBINO?

The next triple header of the season sees the drivers and teams go across the pond to Canada before returning to Europe for the races at Valencia and the home of F1, Silverstone. Bannbino with 4 wins to his name takes a 19 point lead with him and stewards apart, looks unbeatable. Okay, he hasn't got a 100% record but has finished 2nd in the other two races and is the one to beat in qualy. Despite tbe lead, Bannbino is not all sweetness and light as footage from Monaco showed he cut the corner at the start, getting a warning for the incident but other drivers claiming "cheat". Some ill feeling then going into Montreal and the stewards have said that penalties could be handed out in force for similar driving in the coming races. Closest rival is newboy Adman who sits in 2nd with an impressive season so far, in 3rd lies R0ckeye with 48 points and ruing the mistake in Spain. Despite having a poor start to the season, current champion Sheepie UK sees him sat in 4th with 41 points and then behind the next 6 drivers serperated by minimal points down to 10th. 11th sees Satak0 with 14 points and bringing up the rear is EagleJay with 7 having missed the last 3 due to "circumstances beyond his control" Very Happy Lets now preview the up and coming races...........

RACE 7 = CANADA. Season 1 Winner - R0ckeye

We head to the fast track of Montreal in Canada always a favourite of the drivers. The final corner of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve became well-known for crashes involving former World Champions. In 1999, Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve all crashed into the same wall which had the slogan Bienvenue au Québec (Welcome to Quebec in English) on it. The wall became ironically known as the "Wall of Champions". Season 1 saw lots of issues due to wet weather. Squeak83 totaled his car in qualy, while at the start of the race Bannbino had all sorts of difficulties with his vision in the cockpit and caused a turn 1 pile up because of it. Rain 4 laps from the end made it interesting for the teams but R0ckeye took the honours and Bannbino finished a suprising 5th but was promoted to 4th due to Villa John's penalty.

Lets here Webber show us how it's done:

RACE 8 = VALENCIA. Season 1 Winner - Tempy303

Race 8 heads to Europe and Valencia. A street circuit around the harbour, the track has some twisty tight turns as well as some nice fast straights. Turn 1 is similar to that of Monaco leaving not much room for any errors or clashes and is sure to see action here at the start. Season 1 saw Tempy303 not only take pole but also his maiden win in F1. It also saw a turn 1 pile up involving Squeak83, bannbino and R0ckeye who all ended up in the wall and required treatment in the pits. Bannbino came out of the pits in last place but put primes on which was a master stroke staying out for the rest of the race and getting 4th in the end.

Webber gives us the low down:

RACE 9 = SILVERSTONE. Season 1 Winner - Bannbino

Silverstone is the current home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted in 1948. The 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was the first race in the newly-created Formula One World Championship. The race rotated between Silverstone, Aintree and Brands Hatch from 1955 to 1986, but relocated permanently to Silverstone in 1987. On 7 December 2009, Silverstone was awarded the rights to host the British Grand Prix for the next 17 years. On 11 February 2010, it was announced that the British Grand Prix would use the "Arena" circuit configuration, thus increasing the track's length by 759 metres. Season 1 saw Bannbino take pole and the win on home soil. Clashes saw various penalties handed out and going into the last lap, Tempy303 in 2nd place spun to hand 2nd place to R0ckeye and Sheepie UK into 3rd only for R0ckeye's 10 second penalty send him down to 5th with Tempy303 then promoted into 3rd with Hypno 4th.
After that 2nd place Sheepie UK broke the 100 point barrier - how he wishes to be in the same position now.

Lets have a different perspective on the home GP from the new voice of F1 - Martin Brundle:

So Bannbino looks unstoppable can he carry on the form over the next 3 races and can anyone else mount a serious challenge to stop him? With rumours of stronger penalties to be dished out the stewards will be keeping a close eye on proceedings especially with any potential corner cutting! CU next time.......... Very Happy
